Press Release - City Lights Awarded $7M Security Upgrade Contract For Logan Airport Baggage Check Terminals B & C
Boston, MA - Massport Authorities at Logan Airport have chosen City Lights Electrical Co., Inc., a Boston based NECA contractor, to upgrade the baggage security systems at Logan Airport terminals B&C by December 31, 2002.

City Lights will be wiring the new highly sophisticated security systems that will be housed in new buildings being constructed from the ground up between Logan terminals B & C.

After two weeks of competitive bidding by lead estimators Tony Kraunelis and Rich Boyden, City Lights Electrical obtained the high profile contract to work in conjunction with the FAA, Massport, and Amec, the construction managers, on the project.

To meet the December 31, 2002 deadline of this fast track project, City Lights plans to work around the clock, six days a week with a staff of at least twenty-five journeymen per shift.

City Lights General Manager John Deady states, “ We have put together Boston’s best management team for this fast track project.” Senior Project Manager Joesph Callanan adds, “And we are committed to the completion of this project on deadline.”

The management team will consist of Senior Project Manager Joseph Callanan, Project Engineer Bill Kristnofe, Assistant Project Engineer Shane Wilhelmsen, and General Foreman Dave Kraunelis and Kevin Haddigan.

City Lights Electrical, Inc. is a full service electrical construction company that handles diverse electrical construction and telecommunications projects throughout Eastern Massachusetts. The firm was founded in 1989 by its President, Maryanne Cataldo, and was one of the state’s first woman-owned electrical construction companies. Ms. Cataldo served on the Board of Construction Industries of Massachusetts and is a Master Electrician. The NECA member firm employs a field and office staff of 201, including 170 IBEW Local 103 journeymen and apprentices. City Lights has recently completed numerous Central Artery and MBTA Passenger Information System projects.
