| Press Release - City Lights Electrical meets January 1st Deadline at Logan Airport |
| Boston, MA - In the fastest of fast track projects, City Lights Electrical Co., Inc. has met the January 1st deadline for the Baggage Handling Security Upgrades Project at Logan International Airport. In 122 days, over 13 Million Dollars worth of electrical work was performed, a typical schedule for this work to be performed would be 24 months. To meet this very aggressive schedule City Lights had 107 electricians, 10 technicians and a field office staff of nine working seven days a week, around the clock. This work schedule also included work on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. City Lights also managed five sub-contractors on this project. Logan Airport was the first airport in the country to have a 100% baggage-screening plan approved by the Transportation Security Administration. To meet the requirements of 100% screening 12 new bag rooms were built and 9 existing bag rooms were renovated. To power the systems City Lights Electrical installed six new substations. Each substation's primary voltage was 13,800 volts, the secondary voltage was 277/480 and ranged in size from 1800 to 2400 amps each. All bag rooms, new and existing, had new distribution, fire alarm, lighting, power, communication and surveillance systems installed. |
