City Lights Electrical Co., Inc. of Canton, MA, has
recently completed Phase Two of the Cedar Dell renovations at the University of
Massachusetts, Dartmouth campus. Following the success of Phase One which City
Lights had completed last fall, Phase Two of the renovation was awarded in
January 2008.
Phase Two involved, seven buildings, each building had a
new mechanical equipment and energy efficient lighting installed. The largest
part of the project was the installation of a new state of the art fire alarm
system that has over 800 smoke detectors and sounder bases, 150 indicating
devices, sprinkler connections at each building seven networked fire alarm
panels and wireless masterboxes. All panels are networked together over a new
fiber ring that City Lights installed.
The City Lights Project Manager was Michael Smart, Robert
Revil was the General Foreman. The electricians were the proud men and women of
Local 223, I.B.E.W.
The Construction Manager on the project was Agostini
Construction of East Providence, Rhode Island.
