Work Underway at the "Dunk" home of the
Providence Bruins
Providence, RI - City Lights Electrical Co., Inc has been awarded the contract
to provide electrical upgrades to the Dunkin Donut Center "The Dunk"
the home of the Providence Bruins and the Providence College Men's Basketball
Team. Once completed the arena will seat 14,500 including twenty (20) luxury
boxes. The project work schedule will be intense from May 15th through November
1, 2007 with all work being completed within the arena area. The balance of the
work will be completed by 10/4/2008
The
electrical scope of work includes the wiring of the new luxury boxes, a new
lobby and elevator, a 6000 ampere service and upgraded distribution system, emergency
generator, fire pump, lighting including a show dimming system.
A new
state of the art Fire Alarm and voice evacuation system will be installed and connected to a Smoke
Evacuation System. The fire system consists of 100 smoke detectors, 40 heat
detectors 3000 feet of linear heat detection, 20 loud speakers, 150 speaker
strobes, 25,000 feet of pipe, and 180,000 feet of wire.
City
Lights Project Executive Eugene Hubert, Project Manager Mark McConnell and
General Foreman Mark Sullivan will manage thirty five electricians and
apprentices from IBEW Local Union 99.
